The “Daekyo Eye Level International Students’ Sculpture” exhibit will be held from August 24 until September 7 at Sungshin Women’s University sports grounds.
The 2012 Daekyo Eye Level International Students’ Sculpture Symposium and Exhibit was organized by the Daekyo Culture Foundation to foster the creativity of art students worldwide. After the preliminary screening of the recommended outstanding student artists in art colleges in Korea and foreign countries, 12 artists from Korea, UK, Japan, Taiwan, China, and Indonesia were finally selected last June.
The selected artists had the opportunity to share their thoughts regarding changes in sculpture and viewpoints of sculpture of their countries through the symposium held from August 8 to 22. Each artist’s completed work will be shown at the exhibit.
Besides Young-joong Kang, Chief Director of the Daekyo Culture Foundation, and Young won Kim, Chairman of the Korea Sculptors Association, around 100 persons working in the sculpture genre attended the exhibition opening ceremony to celebrate the opening on August 24 at Sungshin Women’s University.
